From Steve Jobs to Tim Cook
By twilight • Jun 23rd, 2009 • Category: Lead Story, TechnologyAs the new iPhone 3G S hit one million in sales only after a couple days on the market, Apple fans wonder if what CEO Steve Jobs has been up to. Jobs left the company on a temporary leave for health reasons last year. Chief operating officer, Tim Cook, has done a fine job by taking the roles of Steve Jobs while he is absent. Cook has become a pretty big deal over the past couple months as Apple releases newer products on the market without it’s famous CEO.
However, there are reports that Steve Jobs has been tooting back and forth in his role as CEO of Apple. He has reportedly received a liver transplant back around April from a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. Jobs has been given a good prognosis and is ready to return. He still does continue some of the day-to-day tasks that run the Cupertino company. He is still on medical leave but there have been reports that the CEO just can’t take himself away from the company he transformed into the hottest thing since color TV.
The only public statement given by CEO jobs was a press release sent out from Apple congratulating for more than one million sales of the new iPhone 3G S. The amazing thing about the new iPhone is that it has only been out for a couple days. So while Steve is still on leave, Tim Cook leads the computer company in it’s next generation.
