Get Connected with iPhone 3.0
By twilight • Jun 17th, 2009 • Category: Lead Story, TechnologySo it’s finally here, the iPhone 3.0 software. The operating system set to blow away the old iPhone software. We’ll there really is no other competition. Obviously, the update might take some time to download and there might be some hiccups in getting it from Apple’s clogged up servers that everyone is hitting at the same time.
Once you do get it, check out some of the obvious, in your face, features that come with the iPhone 3.0 software.
1. Cut, Copy and Paste
-The one item missing to make the iPhone a complete computer/mobile/everything device. Now you can highlight some text then copy it to a clipboard to paste to somewhere else. It’s simplest feature but once you don’t have it at your use, you realize how important it is.
2.Spotlight Search
-For those of you with a Mac, you will know what spotlight search is. It gives you the ability to have search that can scan your entire system for something that your looking for. So, if you need to find an old email, note, text message, etc, this will get you going quick.
3. MMS Messaging
-This isn’t a feature completely ready yet. AT&T has to get therir act together for it to work. The iPhone 3.0 will support MMS messages to send video, pictures, and audio like a text message. It will be ready by the end of the summer.
4. Buy iTunes Movies, TV Shows, etc directly on iPhone
-Now when your sitting at the airport needing something to watch, tap into iTunes and download a movie right to your phone. This will keep you busy in those boring situations.
5. iPhone Tethering
-One of the BEST features this iPhone is packing is iPhone tethering. The ability utilize you phone as a Wi-Fi connection to give your laptop Internet access. You can either tether the signal by Bluetooth or USB cable. As cool as this feature is, it will also not be ready immediately because AT&T wants to find a way to charge for this.
These are only a couple of features that come with the new software. There is a ton of other stuff. So plug in a get going. For more information, check out the iPhone section on Apple. They can explain better than anyone else.
