Google Latitude and the iPhone Map You

The iPhone can just about do anything you want. Google has been trying to take advantage of it’s popularity now by releasing Google Latitude for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

For those of you that don’t know, Google Latitude was a service released earlier this year that lets you see where your friends are on a map. It didn’t have that much success when it rolled out since most people don’t like the idea of someone knowing where you are all the time. Google has now turned mobile with it’s service and released an app that works with the iPhone’s Safari web browser. Whenever you use the app, your location will be updated so your friends and family can see. If you don’t use it, your location is unknown.

The service isn’t available as a downloadable app just yet. Google decided to test the service with the browser before making an app that might not ever be used.
