Microsoft Planning to Open Stores Near Apple’s
By twilight • Jul 15th, 2009 • Category: Lead Story, TechnologyThe competition is gonna heat up once more between Apple and Microsoft. Microsoft plans on opening retail stores just like Apple did to boost sales and popularity. The big strategy Microsoft plans on using is opening up it’s retail stores right next to Apple. Yep, that’s right.
Microsoft has made some big moves already by hiring a new vice president of operations to oversee the step into what they assume will “transform the PC and Microsoft buying experience.” Store location is always a big decision and Microsoft knows where Apple has succeeded, so they plan to follow their moves.
It’s no secret that Apple has won the popularity contest but I honestly don’t think it’s because they know how to make a product “cool”. It’s because they make a GOOD product that has no problems, last long, and updates with more and more exciting features. That’s where Microsoft has failed. Retail stores is the last place they should be looking into.
