The big question about huge companies that boom in the marketplace is usually, how are they gonna make money? That was the case with Facebook before it started it’s advertising program and it is now the case with Twitter.

Twitter COO, Dick Costolo gave hint about the companies soon to be in production, advertising business. Twitter needed a revenue model from the beginning, it was only a matter of time before they unveiled one. According to TechCrunch, Costolo was pretty quiet about it but he said that it “will be fascinating. Non-traditional. And people will love it… It’s going to be really cool.”

How they will integrate the advertising will be very interesting. Will it be in the stream? On the right rail? How will the ads relate? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

There is some news from the company that you visit two hundred times a day. Facebook is now acquiring a content sharing service known as FriendFeed. It’s not the biggest acquisition since the company consist of 12 players, all of which will be senior engineers now at Facebook.

FriendFeed is a content aggregator in a nutshell. The four founders, Bret Taylor, Jim Norris, Paul Buchheit, and Sanjeev Singh were originally from Google. They are well-known for some of their work that brought up big products like Gmail and Google Maps. Anyways, FriendFeed is a connection to all your online accounts and is basically a portal that filters in anything from Tweets, Dugg stories, and even blog posts.

When asked about the big acquisition with social media giant Facebook, Paul Buchheit said their ” completely committed to supporting the users of FriendFeed. In the long term, we’ll have to figure out some plan that makes sense.”
