Are you kidding me? Everyone knows that Apple products are nearly impossible to hack or even allow viruses. This is another internet sensation that started when security experts Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner exposed that the Apple iPhone could be vulnerable to a virus just by sending text messages. It all started from a presentation at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas.

Let me be the first to say that I think you and your iPhone will be just fine. There is a security vulnerability and it has been exposed but there is no virus that is actually built to take advantage of those vulnerability….see what we mean. So what are these programmable hacks that are possible on the iPhone? Let’s run them down.

First, the area that has the vulnerability (said that word a couple times already) involves text messaging or SMS as they call it. The hack can work by the ability to send programmable code via text message that can crash your iphone OS. If you wanted to know if you have been sent this code through text message, you will see a single square character. If you see something like this before the hole is closed by Apple, then shut off your phone immediately before the code runs.

The code that can run from your text message can potentially do just about anything. It can use our camera while you don’t know it, go through your address book, messages, make calls, and just about anything else. The important thing to know is that there is no immediate threat to your iPhone’s vulnerability just yet. This whole thing got started by a couple hackers presenting how they did it at a conference. So don’t be screening my text messages ok….

No Netbook but what about a Tablet? Applewants to skip the Netbook hype and concentrate on the small market for Tablet computers. Rumor has it that Apple plans on releasing it’s first line of Tablets around September.

The specs that are part of this rumor are a 10-inch screen, wireless access and 3G connectivity. It might just be the iTouch but 10-inchs in a nutshell. The Tablet has a small market so far but has been emerging in the business field with companies using the Tablet has part of their daily routines.

The App Store has a ton of business focused applications which include excel like features like graphing, spreadsheets, word processing, all that can be done while your on the move. I’m sure the Tablet will be designed for business’s especially since they seem to be taping into all areas of computer usage.

So we have a new lean mean updated iPhone with some really hot features, but what about the iPod touch. The rumors are moving again and this one is about the iPod Touch 3rd generation model. A new line of iPods is a must for the next rollout of the mp3 players that revolutionized the way we listen to music.

The rumors for the new iPod Touch line include some of the same cool features that you got on the new iPhone released a month ago. Those features include a built-in camera with possible a microphone. Why a microphone you say, we’ll rumor has it that the new features could work wonderfully with the Skype App that would allow users to make voice calls. Other features that are almost 100% up to par is the idea of faster processor and more memory to get you flying away with your music.

So let the rumors continue, you have some time before the new line is released before the holiday season comes upon us.

This month marked the 40th anniversary of the first man landing on the moon. When every one thinks of the moment astronauts first landed on the moon they think of Neil Armstrong and his historical quote, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The one thing people don’t know was what the hell Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were doing.

National Geographic has been releasing stuff like crazy to honor the mission that gave everyone the confidence to conquer any goal that they may have. As the 40th anniversary has come, they take us back to not look at the moon landing or even Neil Armstrong but the second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin.

Buzz Aldrin stepped on the moon 15 minutes after Neil Armstrong. The one memorable experience Buzz seemed to account for on that famous day was his fumbling up the Eagle Lander to reboard. He supposedly could be know as the first man to go to the bathroom is what National Geographic has suggested. To me, that is just as great as an accomplishment as actually landing on that rock we see every night.

When asked about landing on the moon so many times, Buzz Aldrin sounded exactly the way you should and that is real. He said “I guess after 40 years I still don’t know what they’re looking for or what they want to hear.”

The competition is gonna heat up once more between Apple and Microsoft. Microsoft plans on opening retail stores just like Apple did to boost sales and popularity. The big strategy Microsoft plans on using is opening up it’s retail stores right next to Apple. Yep, that’s right.

Microsoft has made some big moves already by hiring a new vice president of operations to oversee the step into what they assume will “transform the PC and Microsoft buying experience.” Store location is always a big decision and Microsoft knows where Apple has succeeded, so they plan to follow their moves.

It’s no secret that Apple has won the popularity contest but I honestly don’t think it’s because they know how to make a product “cool”. It’s because they make a GOOD product that has no problems, last long, and updates with more and more exciting features. That’s where Microsoft has failed. Retail stores is the last place they should be looking into.

While Steve Jobs was on medical leave, he was still working from home and made sure he made the same decisions that he did on his daily role when he was in office. The Apple family is sure to be happy that the creative mastermind is back to the Cupertino company. The rest of the world now wonders what other genius gadgets will come from the company in the future.

CL King analyst Lawrence Harris said “It appears that Palm could return to profitability several quarters sooner than previously anticipated, a noteworthy development.”

Some are still skeptical over the Palm Pre’s future and what it has already achieved. The Palm’s reports included the first phone as well as the results for their fiscal fourth quarter. Even though the numbers are a little skewed, analysts say that over 70,000 are in the hands of consumers.

As the new iPhone 3G S hit one million in sales only after a couple days on the market, Apple fans wonder if what CEO Steve Jobs has been up to. Jobs left the company on a temporary leave for health reasons last year. Chief operating officer, Tim Cook, has done a fine job by taking the roles of Steve Jobs while he is absent. Cook has become a pretty big deal over the past couple months as Apple releases newer products on the market without it’s famous CEO.

However, there are reports that Steve Jobs has been tooting back and forth in his role as CEO of Apple. He has reportedly received a liver transplant back around April from a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. Jobs has been given a good prognosis and is ready to return. He still does continue some of the day-to-day tasks that run the Cupertino company. He is still on medical leave but there have been reports that the CEO just can’t take himself away from the company he transformed into the hottest thing since color TV.

The only public statement given by CEO jobs was a press release sent out from Apple congratulating for more than one million sales of the new iPhone 3G S. The amazing thing about the new iPhone is that it has only been out for a couple days. So while Steve is still on leave, Tim Cook leads the computer company in it’s next generation.

So it’s finally here, the iPhone 3.0 software. The operating system set to blow away the old iPhone software. We’ll there really is no other competition. Obviously, the update might take some time to download and there might be some hiccups in getting it from Apple’s clogged up servers that everyone is hitting at the same time.

Once you do get it, check out some of the obvious, in your face, features that come with the iPhone 3.0 software.

1. Cut, Copy and Paste
-The one item missing to make the iPhone a complete computer/mobile/everything device. Now you can highlight some text then copy it to a clipboard to paste to somewhere else. It’s simplest feature but once you don’t have it at your use, you realize how important it is.

2.Spotlight Search
-For those of you with a Mac, you will know what spotlight search is. It gives you the ability to have search that can scan your entire system for something that your looking for. So, if you need to find an old email, note, text message, etc, this will get you going quick.

3. MMS Messaging
-This isn’t a feature completely ready yet. AT&T has to get therir act together for it to work. The iPhone 3.0 will support MMS messages to send video, pictures, and audio like a text message. It will be ready by the end of the summer.

4. Buy iTunes Movies, TV Shows, etc directly on iPhone
-Now when your sitting at the airport needing something to watch, tap into iTunes and download a movie right to your phone. This will keep you busy in those boring situations.

5. iPhone Tethering
-One of the BEST features this iPhone is packing is iPhone tethering. The ability utilize you phone as a Wi-Fi connection to give your laptop Internet access. You can either tether the signal by Bluetooth or USB cable. As cool as this feature is, it will also not be ready immediately because AT&T wants to find a way to charge for this.

These are only a couple of features that come with the new software. There is a ton of other stuff. So plug in a get going. For more information, check out the iPhone section on Apple. They can explain better than anyone else.
